KokoroNestKyoto · 心の巣
A nest for the heart, at the foot of the Arashiyama hills, a small, warm-hearted house between the river and the mountains.
“There is no front desk here: you let yourself in, at your own pace, with the instructions we send you. The café room is yours. Put on the music you like and take your time. We stay reachable throughout your stay.”
A café, a few rooms, a house
Kokoro Nest is a small guest house and café, steps from Hankyu Arashiyama station. We work as tour guides in Kyoto, we speak English, and we gladly share our favourite corners of the city.
The house is simple and lived-in, the kind that has a soul: aged wood, natural light, quiet. Downstairs, the café stays open to everyone, guests and passers-by alike.

Countryside, at Kyoto’s edge
Away from the downtown bustle, Arashiyama moves to the rhythm of the Katsura river and its wooded hills. Temples, the bamboo grove, an onsen: nearly everything is on foot. And in the evening, when the tourists leave, the neighbourhood returns to silence.
the Katsura at dusk, a few minutes from the door
cherry trees along the river, at the end of March
deep green, cool evenings by the water
maples ablaze on the hillsides, from mid-November
mist on the river, and silence
Nearly everything is a short walk

A few steps away
